Veterinary Nurses

Gemma Edwards FDsc RVN CERT ECC

Head Nurse

Gemma joined the Strathmore team in January 2012. She graduated from the Royal Veterinary College with a Foundation Veterinary Nursing Science degree in July 2010. She has been a Registered Veterinary Nurse since July 2009.

Gemma is especially interested in laboratory work, nurse clinics and anaesthesia.

Gemma has completed her certifcate in Emergency and Critical Care.

She is also a clinical coach for our student nurses.

She has two cats called Charlie and Lola.

Faith Derbyshire RVN

Deputy Head Nurse

Faith joined the Strathmore team in October 2013.

She qualified from Lynwood School of Veterinary Nursing in January 2012. She has been a Registered Veterinary Nurse since January 2012.

Faith is especially interested in anaesthesia and medical nursing, and has just completed the nurses certificate in anaesthesia.

She is also a clinical coach for the student.

She has a whippet called Fynn and a Yorkshire terrier called Polly.

Clare Scott RVN

Clare joined the practice in August 2004. She has been nursing since 1999.

She has a keen interest in physiotherapy.

Clare has a Sprocker called Bella

Amy James RVN

Amy has been nursing since 2005 and qaulified in 2014.

She has done a mixture of small animal, exotic and referral work over the years.

She enjoys all aspects of her work and has an interest in medical nursing.

She has three dog, Molly, Tiny and Dougal who like to keep her on her toes.

Holly Prince RVN

Holly joined the team in January 2016 as a student nurse. She recently qualified from Porstmouth University in July 2016 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, after completing a Foundation Science Degree in Veterinary Nursing Science at Sparsholt College.

Holly is especially interesed in nurse clinics, emergency and critical care and nutrition.

Holly's interests outside of work include horse riding, reading and trips to Wales.
She has a DSH tortoiseshell cat called Poppy.

Maria McDermott

Maria is currently in her 2nd year of veterinary nurse training at Sparsholt.

She enjoys learning & developing new clinical skills in all areas of practice and being part of the Strathmore team.

She owns a very energetic Duck Tolling Retreiver called Louie.
